About the Position
Full time Utility – This is an entry level position in a large lentil/pea processing plant in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan. The incumbent will start out in an entry level position, and they will be expected to prove the potential for becoming a utility operator within six months.
The plant produces milled, lentil and chickpea products utilizing various production processes and operational functions. These include material handling, and other separations. You will develop knowledge of the facility and overall department operations, complete assigned tasks from start to finish, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and personal performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cross-trained in all operational positions to facilitate operational needs (i.e.: material handling, light maintenance, and cleaning)
• Trained to develop various skills sets to progress into higher-level roles. The expectation being that the incumbent will be competent when working with machinery, including the ability to safely troubleshoot operational issues.
• General sanitation duties following established GMP’s for food safety programs.
• Adhere to Safety Rules, GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety protocols is crucial.
• Complete all other duties as required to support operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Basic computer skills, numeracy and record accuracy are also necessary to succeed at this role.
• The successful candidate must possess good communication skills, the ability to follow directions, and most importantly perform various tasks safely and independently in a production environment.
• Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• May be required to lift 55 lbs. / 22 kg.
• Needs to be able to work in a variety of hot, cold, or wet conditions.
• Shift work, overtime and weekends may be required.
• ADM requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
• Must maintain a clean-shaven face or appropriately trimmed facial hair when required for operational or safety purposes, including proper use of PPE and respiratory equipment.

Education or Work Experience

• Experience in production, agriculture and/or similar environments is preferred.
• High school education or equivalent is preferred.

• Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements.
• All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
• Relocation support is not available for this position.
