A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Commercial Director of Tubing will be responsible for establishing the business strategy for the Tubing business and executing the strategy with the tubing commercial team. They will foster and maintain an atmosphere of mutual understanding, common goals and teamwork between Tubing’s commercial and operations teams with the overarching goal of driving continuous improvement of the customer experience. This person will assemble all necessary financial, market, and competitive information and use to demonstrate to the President North America Agriculture that the overall Tubing strategy is being executed and yearly KPI’s are being met. This person will collaborate with customers and cross-functional internal teams, and Tubing sales team to work towards 100% customer satisfaction, zero defects and ensure the timely and successful delivery of tubing products. The Commercial Director of Tubing will influence the Tubing culture in a positive manner, promoting an engaged workforce passionate about the Tubing business.

Essential Functions:

· To support division strategy and Tubing objectives establishes both territory and customer strategies; deploys these strategies through the development and implementation of field sales action plans

· Develops and manages annual and quarterly sales goals and objectives:

o Develops objectives by Sales Manager, Territory, Sales Representatives consistent with Tubing objectives

o Ensures all sales organization objectives are assigned in a timely fashion

o Ensures regular reporting and transparency of results and adherence to plan

o Develops sales execution plans to ensure objectives are realized

· Ensures accurate sales forecasting and planning processes are used consistently within the sales organization

· Drive forecast planning with sales managers to create:

o Annual Strat Plan

o AOP development

o Steel acquisition plan

· Manages key customer relationships and participates in closing strategic opportunities; incubates new strategic partners

· Leads the commercial team with a focus on the establishment and maintenance of long-term strategic relationships

· Customer retention / maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors

· Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement

· Owns preparation of commercial response to our customers. Monitors for RFQ response, including customer inputs in support of pricing; ensures contract review is complete and positioned for commercial response

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, identify operational inefficiencies, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and profitability

· Direct and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives through the sales team

· Work in collaboration with sales and finance to set monthly pricing adjustments

· Send out CRU information to Reps/Sales staff

· Drive OSMI utilization amongst sales team

· Provide guidance on quality standards on behalf of the sales team

· Provide guidance on Approval or rejection of material in accordance with customer expectations

· Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the company

· Directly manage open territories when necessary, or make changes in commercial team responsibilities to ensure all market opportunities met

· Initiate key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor and communicate commercial operations performance to senior leadership

· Translate complex data into compelling visualizations, reports, and presentations that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization

· Act as a strategic partner to operations, sales, marketing, finance, and other teams, providing guidance on process efficiencies and improvements to ensure customer experience

· Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to commercial operations and analytics, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of data-driven decision-making

· Tracking and analysis of profitability, costing, and sourcing strategies of ongoing programs as well as special situations and new businesses operations

· Performance management of functional team members, providing reviews, ongoing coaching and training initiatives to optimize employee talent and capabilities

· Delegate and challenge the team with engaging responsibilities that ensure team members become active and enthusiastic contributors

· Develop a yearly roadmap of critical goals and activities for the customer support, quality operations, and inside sales team; monitor progress and identify additional programs as appropriate

· Improve and optimize the customer experience and their interactions with company by ensuring consistent quality, timely delivery and superior service

· Develop programs to capture customer and field feedback and monitor/report on findings and opportunities/areas for improvement

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

· Preferred Bachelors with 10+ years experience

· Strong background or experience in a technical field or engineering

· Must be adept at working with disparate groups, teams and leadership styles

· Possess the ability to address problems in a constructive way, effectively deal with conflict, and maintain a positive outlook

· As part of the management team, must be able to maintain a working relationship with various parts of the organization

· Excellent human relations skills. Also required: close cooperation, coordination, and communication

· Responsibility, sense of urgency, engagement, ability to work under pressure

· Proven experience managing projects and working with complex teams

· Experience with sales or sales support and providing solutions based on customer needs

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability in problem solving and negotiation

· Ability to identify customer needs and exceed client expectations

· Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills

· Strong business acumen

· English language required

· Occasional travel (30%) required

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

· Experience in the steel or tubing industry

· Experience in manufacturing

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
