Operator 2 - Mill
Location: Port Colborne, Ontario
Position Type: Operations
Salary: Full Time, Hourly
Compensation: $31.23/hour.
Pre-employment Requirement: Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference check

About the Position
ADM is looking for a motivated and safety-focused Roll Tender to join our Mill operations. This position is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills, proven production experience, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Reporting to the Mill Superintendent, this position is responsible for supporting sanitation & mill operations by assisting with flour and wheat end processes, performing housekeeping sanitation duties, and ensuring safe, efficient, and productive work practices.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete housekeeping/sanitation requirements
  • Duties may be physically demanding – Heavy lifting and repetitive motion
  • Complete all flour changes on yield management system
  • Monitor equipment, complete flour and wheat changes
  • Assist in daily operations of the flour and wheat ends
  • Provide coverage for Mill Operator 1 tasks as required
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Finding data as necessary to correctly complete duties
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Maintain accurate records and perform computer-based reporting tasks


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving, self-motivation, and organizational skills
  • Experience with high-speed production environments
  • Ability to foster and maintain a safe work environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong leadership qualities with a confident, courteous demeanor
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have mechanical aptitude & mathematical skills
  • Good attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
  • Knowledge of relevant industry practices and standards

Education or Work Experience
  • Relevant experience in a mill or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous work in a high-speed production setting strongly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment
  • Management experience preferred

Additional Information
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing stairs, standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces or at heights
  • May be required to lift 55 lbs. / 22 kg
  • Tolerate extreme temperatures in various areas of the facility
  • Walk long distances and work with tools as part of daily responsibilities
  • Follow instructions and adapt to operational demands
  • All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
