Compensation: $37.49 - Full Time, Hourly (Pre-employment Requirement Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference check)
About the Position
The ADM Midland, Ontario flour mill is seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Millwright. Duties of a Maintenance Millwright are to maintain all equipment to required standards and provide support for preventive and failure based maintenance as required by the plant needs. Must be willing to take after hours trouble calls and respond to facility as needed. This is an hourly unionized position which involves shift work, some weekend work and call outs after hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting mechanical failures
- Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining equipment
- Demonstrating a strong team member attitude while being able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Recommending changes, modifications or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance
- Reading equipment drawings and documentation
- Documenting work, modifications to equipment, etc.
- All other duties required
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience with High-speed production
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within industrial maintenance
- Strong knowledge of all applicable OHSA standards, GMP’s, HACCP and other applicable food and feed safety standards.
- Must be able to work in a plant environment in a variety of environmental conditions including inside and outside, hot and cold temperatures and dusty environments
- Experience with coupling and coupling alignments, conveyors, safe rigging practices, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding. Must have good attention to detail troubleshooting skills
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with good verbal and written skill
- Related Industry Knowledge
Education or Work Experience
- Industrial mechanic (millwright) trade certification
- Two (2) years of experience
Additional Information
- History of working safely and a reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement efforts
- Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
- Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
- The successful candidate must be willing to take after hours trouble calls and respond to the facility as needed. This is an hourly unionized position which involves shift work, some weekend work and call outs after hours
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, eight (8) hour shifts, 8:00AM to 4:00PM
- Have the ability to climb stairs, lift 55 pounds, sit and stand for long periods, be able to work in confined spaces, work with heights, bending and kneeling
- All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
- Relocation support is not available for this position.
