Innovation Pipeline Co-Op
In this role, you will play an integral part in the execution of Plant Biotech innovation projects as part of a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary team.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Innovation Pipeline Co‑op, are to:
- Partner with members of the innovation pipeline to evaluate projects in the areas of molecular and protein biology, entomology, and plant transformation;
- Collaborate with project manager, fellow scientists, and key stakeholders on experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results;
- Execute lab‑based experiments that lead to go/no‑go decisions on pipeline implementation;
- Ensure flow of information and updates through regular communication and scientific presentations at team and project meetings;
- Maintain meticulous and up‑to‑date research records to ensure compliance.
WHO YOU ARE
Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
- For the duration of the co‑op term, enrolled in a PhD or master’s program in molecular biology, cell biology, plant physiology, protein biochemistry, entomology, or related field;
- Experience applying molecular and cell biology techniques including cloning and transformation to answer research questions;
- Experience with microscopy, microbiology, entomology, or macromolecular assays;
- Organized and proactive, with the ability to work collaboratively to deliver results under tight deadlines;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills including regular data presentation;
- Enthusiasm for hands‑on bench work;
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- Preferred experience using R, Python, or Spotfire or Power BI to perform statistical analysis and visualize data.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.75 to $47.75. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
