Batching Responsibilities
- Sequence cleanouts for each shift.
- Sequence daily mixing for the shift.
- Coordinate, prioritize, and communicate when batches need to be dumped.
- Operate the batching computer.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
- Ensure the system is fully cleaned to prevent cross-contamination between products.
- Understand and utilize the Oracle system and other production databases.
- Ensure the correct hand adds are placed in the appropriate products.
- Read and follow all Batch Mixing Instructions (BMI).
- Verify micro card locations on each micro tub and check for accuracy.
- Ensure proper micro tubs are placed at the correct mixer for cut-in personnel.
- Monitor and maintain micro-bin inventory levels.
- Operate the liquid hand-add system.
- Assist Hand Add colleagues with dumping ingredients.
- Package finished product according to Batch Mixing Instructions (BMI).
- Verify finished product quantities match the BMI.
- Ensure product is bagged into the correct labeled container.
- Verify lot numbers, pallet cards, product codes, and tag codes are accurately recorded on the batch ticket.
- Collect product samples from designated batches for third-party testing and retain samples as required.
- Ensure product quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed.
- Operate both toting and bagging lines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Complete assigned housekeeping tasks in accordance with the master sanitation schedule.
- Follow all quality, food safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members across production areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work safely and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
